Now That’s What I Call A Summer of Fun!

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre is bursting at the seams this summer with family fun, a heart-tugging musical based on a hit movie and a show that will have audiences reliving the soundtrack of their youth.

When school’s out the shows are on! Fun-filled summer holiday must-sees are coming, including Andy Griffith’s and Terry Denton’s The 13-Storey Treehouse (Thu 25 -Sun 28 Jul). Based on the award-winning book, be prepared the wildest stories with flying cats, a mermaid and a sea monster – and that’s just for starters!

For the more scientifically-minded, Ministry of Science Live (Sun 25 Aug) is a must. Expect 20ft liquid nitrogen clouds, exploding oxygen and hydrogen balloons, ignited methane and even a self-built Hovercraft, and why not try a Musical Theatre Experience Day? Taking place over several days in August for different age groups, participants will learn vocals to favourite musical theatre songs, work on characterisation and performance skills and get creative with movement and choreography.

Love musicals? Ghost the Musical (Thu 22 – Sat 24 Aug) is based on one of cinema’s biggest all-time hits. Featuring The Righteous Brothers’ Unchained Melody alongside many other songs co-written by Eurythmic’s Dave Stewart, the heartbreaking plot of a tragic encounter that leads to a phony psychic trying to communicate between this world and the next is one that has stood the test of time.
