December 30, 2020CHILTERN ARTS FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES
SIX LIVE SOCIALLY-DISTANCED CONCERTS THIS SPRING
Following a successful duo of socially-distanced Autumn Concerts in October, Chiltern Arts has announced a programme of six glorious classical concerts this Spring – with audience safety and comfort coming first at every turn. Running from Friday 26th February to Saturday 6th March, the Festival features the highest quality classical music from world-renowned musicians.
We hear Brahms and Rachmaninov in Princes Risborough from pianist Clare Hammond; in Henley, Echo choir explore how we listen to Renaissance music, taking the music of Orlando de Lassus as a starting point for a charming, honest and original piece of theatre.
Mahan Esfahani treats us to one of Bach’s most loved works in Marlow: the Goldberg Variations. Dive into an immersive Argentinian experience at The Gatsby in Berkhamsted, with music from the Nuevo Tango Quintet and Argentinian food and wine (courtesy of Tring Winery).
In Great Missenden, the Sacconi String Quartet treat us to Dvorak’s famous American quartet and Shostakovich’s 8th String Quartet. And in Old Amersham, the City of London Sinfonia explore musical identities with a programme including Mendelssohn’s stunning Octet and Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll.
Join Chiltern Arts this Spring for something we will never again take for granted: the luxury of experiencing a week of live in-person concerts – the vibrations of the room, those real human moments and the sheer joy of sharing the experience with others… albeit whilst masked from a safe social distance!
