September 3, 2024Whether you’re a die-hard fan, a casual enthusiast, or someone looking to enjoy a day of family-friendly entertainment, this festival has something for everyone.
Come along to Kop Hill Climb Festival in Princes Risborough on 14th and 15th September and be a part of this unique two day event organised totally by volunteers. This wonderful mix of family friendly festival and commemorative hill climb for cars and motorcycles raises funds for local charities and projects. An impressive amount of £1,085,000 has been raised to date since the revival started back in 2009.
So what can you expect from this year’s Festival? Well if it’s cars and bikes, then the hill will be packed with both, with commemorative runs celebrating motoring through the ages from the early 1900’s to modern day exotics.
This is not just a static display though, but history in motion as over 400 cars and bikes each day take on the famous hill in a recreation of its illustrious past. Names such as Malcolm Campbell in Bluebird, Raymond Mays in his Bugatti, Henry Segrave in his Sunbeam and Count Zborowski in his 8 cylinder Ballot were all competitors in the heyday of the hill from 1910 to 1925.
Although Kop Hill Climb is no longer a competition, and is not timed, it showcases an extraordinary spectrum of motoring history and it’s a chance to marvel at over a hundred years of pioneering, mechanical progress.
Why not buy a Grandstand ticket and get a unique vantage point to view all the action on the hill.
In the Paddock you can get up close to the vehicles and drivers, check out the Soapbox Challenge competition for 8-16 year olds, showcasing their design and build flair and competing for the coveted Beaumont Cup or maybe visit the Family Area which has a fun fair and lunchtime entertainment to keep the younger members of the family happy.
You can even get a bird’s eye view of the event with a helicopter ride!
With so many things to see and do a break for some food and drink will definitely be in order. So relax in the food court while taking in the sounds of live music on the stage. Then why not browse the many exhibitors and indulge in a spot of retail therapy safe in the knowledge that all surplus funds raised will be helping local charities and projects.
