August 28, 2021I usually get an arched eyebrow and tightening of the lips when I tell people I’m a Hypnotherapist.
People often don’t know what a Hypnotherapist really is and it can make them a little nervous, thinking that the control of their mind is at stake. Well, nothing could be further from the truth!
Hypnotherapy utilises trance (another word which can make people nervous) which is a very natural state we often find ourselves in, at various points in the day; it’s that daydreamy state when you’re totally relaxed and, most importantly, totally in control. We can go into a type of trance when out walking, when gardening or when just listening to our favourite music. Hypnotherapy is the process of purposefully getting into this state and utilising it.
The mind is highly receptive to new suggestion in trance and, working with the client’s desired outcome, it is the perfect state to help people make the changes they want to see.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern therapy combining the use of psychotherapy (talking therapy) with hypnosis. As a modern psychotherapeutic approach, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses practical, structured, and well-researched strategies to help people make significant and positive changes in their lives. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can be used to treat a wide range of issues and is especially effective with conditions where stress and/or anxiety is involved.
