Down the rabbit hole in aid of Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity
July 2, 2019I arrived at Stokenchurch Dog Rescue from a pound that SDR work closely with – without Stokenchurch my future may not have been as bright.
I have settled in well, I’m always happy to greet my handlers and I absolutely love fuss and attention!
I am a big boy so my new owners may want to work on my behaviour in the home, as I may accidently knock someone over due to my size, even though I am calm and sweet about the way I do this.
I have already learned a few commands such as sit, down, paw and other paw and am more than capable of learning so much more, however I do need work on my recall, but I am easily motivated during training by being rewarded for the correct behaviour/command with treats and positive praise.
The team at Stokenchurch Dog Rescue have tried introducing me to other dogs but I don’t really like them – I want to be an only dog!
I’m told by all who have me that I am a lovely boy and I like meeting new people when out walking – especially if they have a treat for me!
I love to play with toys when given the chance, but I will run off with them during playtime and will only drop them when I’m ready. To make the playtime more fun it will be a good idea to teach me to fetch so that I can interact with my new owners more during play.
I enjoy regular walks and will make a great addition in the right home with owners who are able to keep me mentally and physically fit.
