Wycombe Homeless Connection is a charity that serves people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in south Buckinghamshire. A member of the public called our homelessness helpline about Sara who was sleeping rough and didn’t know where to turn for help.

Thankfully, Sara was told to turn to Wycombe Homeless Connection. Within a few hours, she was in our Support Centre, eating hot food and in dry clothes. We knew it was too dangerous for Sara to spend one more night on the street to be ‘verified’. That’s the process of being witnessed sleeping rough by an official from the council to qualify for emergency accommodation.

We paid for a hotel so Sara could be safe and sleep. We booked her in for a checkup with a GP and helped her start looking for a home for good. We will walk with Sara for as long as she needs.
